Community Grant Program

Overview:

The Horizon Protocol Community Grant Program aims to empower and support the Horizon Protocol community by providing financial assistance for initiatives that contribute to community building, education, and social media outreach. This program is designed to foster a vibrant and engaged community, drive educational initiatives, and enhance the project's visibility across various platforms.

Grant Categories:

1. Community Building Initiatives:

- Funding for In Real Life (IRL) events, meetups, workshops and conferences that bring Horizon Protocol community members together.

- Support Rangers and other members that wish to represent the community by attending IRL events, networking and spreading knowledge about Horizon Protocol.

2. Educational Initiatives:

- Translation Grants: Financial support for translating Horizon Protocol content, with a primary focus on documentation (Academy), but also articles, and educational materials, to make information accessible to a broader audience.

- Original Educational Content: Funding for community members to create and publish educational posts, tutorials, and articles related to Horizon Protocol.

3. Social Media Initiatives:

- Financial assistance for community members to promote Horizon Protocol on Twitter or other relevant Social Media Platforms, with a focus on creating high impact engaging content, running campaigns, and increasing the platform's visibility.

Articulation with the Horizon Rangers Program

As leaders of the Horizon Protocol Community, the Horizon Rangers will have priority access to grants in their mission to promote Horizon Protocol in various regions, fostering local engagement and awareness.

Application Process:

2. The team will evaluate the proposals based on criteria such as impact, feasibility, and alignment with project goals, and suggest improvements if needed. 3. Grants proposals that successfully complete step 2, will be presented to the community for feedback.

4. Approved grants will receive funding based on the proposed budgets, with periodic reviews to ensure milestones are met.

Reporting and Accountability:

Grant recipients are required to provide updates and reports on the progress of their initiatives. This transparency ensures accountability and allows the community to track the impact of funded initiatives.

Timeline:

The Horizon Protocol Community Grant Program will be tested during 2024, with an initial budget allocation of $2,000 to be divided among, at least, 5 different initiatives.

Evaluation:

At the end of the test phase, the grant program will be evaluated based on the impact of funded initiatives. Feedback from the community and the team will be used to refine and improve the program for subsequent phases.

By implementing the Horizon Protocol Community Grant Program, we aim to empower our community to actively contribute to the growth and success of the project. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Horizon Protocol ecosystem.
